The short answer: a serious professional website in Cyprus costs between €650 and €3,000 as a one off, and an online shop starts higher. Below we explain what drives that number, so you understand what you are being offered when you get a quote.
What each type costs
These are our own prices and we show them openly on the pricing page. In the Cyprus market you will find cheaper and dearer. The point is not the lowest number but knowing what it includes.
What pushes the price up
How many pages. Five pages and fifty are not the same job. Each one needs design, copy and checking.
Ready made theme or your own design. A theme costs less and looks like thousands of others. Your own design costs more and sets you apart.
Two languages. Greek and English is not just translation. It is double the content, double the checking and telling Google which page is which.
Who writes the copy. Give it to us and you save money. Have us write it and it costs more but usually sells better.
Links to other systems. Payments, invoicing, stock, CRM. Each connection is separate work and separate cost.
Photography. Your own professional photos cost more but make an enormous difference next to stock images.
What you pay every year
A website is not only the build. There are running costs you pay whether somebody handles them or you do it yourself.
Maintenance is optional. But leave a website without updates for two years and the next cost is usually rebuilding it, not fixing it.
Where not to go cheap
Be careful with "free" websites. They usually come with a two or three year contract and a monthly fee that ends up costing more, and the site is not yours. Stop paying and you lose everything. Always ask two things before signing: who owns the files and what happens if I leave.
The second thing is speed. A beautiful site that takes three seconds to load loses visitors before they see it. Ask to see a PageSpeed score before you accept it, or check it free with our tool.
Common questions
Why did one person quote €300 and another €2,000?
Usually because they are selling different things. At €300 you get a ready made theme with the colours changed and your own copy. At €2,000 you get a design made for you, work on speed and on Google, and somebody who answers after delivery. Both are legitimate, as long as you know which one you are buying.
Can I build it myself with Wix or WordPress?
Yes, and for a small business starting out that is a sensible choice. It will cost you time instead of money. The trouble starts when you need speed, proper SEO or something the tool cannot do, and you usually start again from scratch.
Do I pay the whole amount up front?
No. Usually half at the start and half on delivery. On larger projects it is split into stages, so you pay as you see work.
Does the price include SEO?
The technical part yes: speed, structure, titles, sitemap, correct markup. The ongoing work for rankings, meaning content and links every month, is a separate service.
How long does a website last before it needs renewing?
Technically, with maintenance, it works indefinitely. Visually, three to five years is the usual cycle. If your business changed, the site changes sooner.
